The interventions will be tailored according to the needs assessed and context in order to include both children living with parents in the confines of prisons and those outside the prisons that could be living with extended family members.
However, although the focus will be on children, their parents and guardians would be supported with livelihood support to establish a source of income to sustain their families and resettle in their communities, after release from incarceration, to bridge the gaps in their basic needs around health, education, livelihoods and avoid the risk of turning to negative coping mechanisms such as alcoholism, commercial sex work…. etc.

The program team of trained social workers coordinate with Uganda Prison authorities, Ministry of Gender Child and Social Development – Children’s department, and identify the most vulnerable individuals that then go through a verification process and with their data entered into an encrypted data base.
All target parents as the direct beneficiaries of the project, are taken through a process where all required information about the project interventions is shared with them to which they sign a consent form, this is to ensure, MYPF upholds ethical considerations.

MYPF operations are all in-line with the global humanitarian and development standards as well as strategic focus for child wellbeing as stipulated in the and the activities are reviewed at the end of every financial year to ensure that the project remains relevant and meets the required goals and objectives.
During the period of interventions, there will be close contact with the families, based on information from the individuals selected and there will be constant follow up and monitoring of the children, in schools, homes while maintaining open communication between the children and parents.
