Elijah Ssempiira's Story

Elijah Ssempiira, a 24-year-old, faced a challenging ordeal after being abandoned by his parents during the COVID-19 outbreak. Having completed his senior six in 2019, Elijah was left to fend for himself, living alone in Kasenge Trading Center. With no support system in place, he was on the verge of engaging in dangerous activities, including drug abuse, as a means of survival.
In September 2023, Mapenzi Ya Dunia Foundation (MYDF) identified Elijah's situation and stepped in to provide much-needed support. Recognizing his potential, they offered him the opportunity to return to school and covered all his educational expenses, health needs, and general welfare.
In February 2024, Elijah began his studies in Automotive Mechanics at Spear Motors Training Center in Nakawa. He is currently in the last term of his first year, steadily progressing toward a promising career. Elijah's story is a powerful example of how timely intervention and support can transform lives, offering hope and a brighter future.
